In Brief - Metal as fuck.

Raw, Relentles and Riff-tastic, Sanctorum certainly know how to put together a good metal album. Based around a more traditional style with a hint of death metal, every song would fit in perfectly at a metal club, enticing people to go crazy on the floor and would definitely cause some havoc when played live.

The guitar work is spot on; harnessing solos, brutal drops and strong riffs alike and ensurng the music is fast and furious throughout. The thunderous, rythmic drum beats, utilising the double bass pedal with maximum effect, adds to the overall impact and ensures that headbanging and moshing are a necessity; it would be near imposible for any metal fan to sit still whilst listening to Sanctorum. The vocals are what really give the band their death metal edge, being reminiscent of Satyricon's but with more roaring, which can only be a good thing.

Denying all temptation to comply with the new wave of metal that is now popular, Sanctorum are metal to the core, track 9 'My Sickness' being an outstanding example of this, incorporating savage drops, epic solos and everything else you could want from a metal track. Put simply, this album is metal as fuck. Go buy it. Now.
